Construction Projects
As part of Integral Health, environmental health is also important. Occasionally, a village or group will require help with the construction of facilities that are needed for the implementation of physical, social and/or spiritual needs, but they find that the costs of certain stages of such construction are more costly than they can afford without lengthy interruptions to accumulate funds. The group would like to pay its own way but just needs a little “boost” to get the job done. InterSALUD invites work teams from other areas or countries to come and work for a week or two in order to provide the “boost,” and to make the facilities usable faster. Teams usually schedule months in advance to participate in a particular phase of a project, or teams may help start a project, depending on the needs of an organization, ministry or church. The teams work with the local national members in such construction. InterSALUD keeps information on all needy projects worldwide. This allows churches to inquire about upcoming projects as they plan their annual missions outreach. Many churches use an InterSALUD project as the focus of their annual missions program. When a church encourages its congregation to volunteer for this hands-on experience, it raises individual awareness of missions. Participants return home on fire for Christ and the missions work. They pray, volunteer, and give more of themselves to the Work of our Lord. And, they enjoy long lasting meaningful relationships with the nationals who touched their lives.
When facilities or major equipment are needed, InterSALUD Construction consulting teams assist missionaries, villages, or groups with project assessments, architectural concepts, final plans, engineering, and project oversight for any given need. Strategic planning gives ministry projects effective long-range plans, accurate cost estimates, and an effective and timely building process. This relieves missionaries from needing to be on site, allowing them to focus on ministry.
